Daily Bread Food Bank, a non-for-profit organization, empowers other South Florida Non-for-profit organizations to feed needy people and improve their lives. We do this by providing food and other grocery products; and by educating and engaging our community to fight hunger and poverty.

We are the South Florida affiliate of America's Second Harvest , a member of the Florida Association of Food Banks and the largest food bank in the State of Florida.

Daily Bread Food Bank was founded in 1981 as a not-for-profit organization in response to hunger in our community. Daily Bread operates on a very simple principle: reduce hunger by reducing waste. 20% of all food produced in the United States goes to waste.

The 2008 NALC Letter Carriers Food Drive a Huge Success!

This past Saturday, May 10th, the 16th annual National Association of Letter Carriers "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive brought in donations from all over South Florida. Local residents pulled together and with the help of the letter carriers, they managed to provide an amazing amount of food for those less fortunate in our community. To put this incredible community effort into perspective, as of May 13th, over 938,000 pounds of food has been accounted for and we're still weighing!!! Daily Bread Food Bank would like to thank Union 1071 Treasurer Laurie Miale and Union 1690 President Mel Roxroth for coordinating the event. We would also like to thank every postal worker, sponsor, volunteer and resident who helped make the event the success it was.

Florida Marlins visit Daily Bread Food Bank!

On Friday, April 18th, Taylor Tankersley, Matt Lindstrom and Burke Badenhop of the Florida Marlins stopped by Daily Bread Food Bank's Reclamation Center for a volunteer food sorting session. Upon arrival, all three players wasted no time "pitching" in with an eager and enthusiastic sorting effort. In addition to their volunteer sorting, the three Marlins' pitchers took a tour of the facility and learned about our daily operation. Daily Bread Food Bank would like to thank the Florida Marlins, players Taylor Tankersley, Matt Lindstrom and Burke Badenhop as well as Ms. Nancy Olson for their hunger fighting interest.
