Food Donations
Daily Bread Food Bank's Food Procurement Department is responsible for building partnerships with local and national donors. Through the generous support of our donors, a steady flow of donated food product can be secured and distributed to the needy people of South Florida. Who are our donors?
Nationally, our donations come by means of an affiliation with America's Second Harvest (A2H). This accounts for approximately 40% of our incoming of food. These donations come by means of large food distributors who work with America's Second Harvest in distributing to agencies all around the country. Although this is a large portion of our incoming food, we must rely on local donors for majority of the food needed for distribution.
Local donations come from various sources including Retailers, Wholesalers, Manufacturers, and Distributors. Without this tremendous support, we would not be able to service food supply needs of our needy. Can you help the needy people of South Florida by donating your excess food products?
Our mission is supported through various programs. These include the Extra Helpings Program (Prepared Food Rescue), The Purchase program, VAP program, Federal programs (including USDA and FEMA), Food Shows, Food Drives, and Field Gleanings to name a few. Donate!
Ways You Can HelpFood Donations are the greatest means of feeding our hungry. Statistically, 1 pound of food is equivalent to 1.5 meals. So, if you are an organization with surplus inventory, food product with a date near to expiration, or have unwanted product, please consider donating these food products to the Daily Bread Food Bank. Our aim is to make your food donation an easy and enjoyable process. Want to make a food donation? E-mail
