Inaugural Back Pack Program is Launched!

On January 11th Daily Bread Food Bank in a partnership with the YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade launched the inaugural Back-Pack Program for South Florida. In this, the first program of its kind in the state of Florida, needy children will be given a backpack full of nutritious, healthy foods each Friday to take home with them. This much needed food will sustain these children who might normally go hungry over the weekend or over holiday breaks. As the selected agency, the YWCA will fill these back-packs each week throughout the year with food provided by Daily Bread Food Bank. The funding for this incredible program was provided by Peacock Foundation, Inc. and Daily Bread is "Proud as a Peacock" to be a beneficiary. With this gracious gift and the partnership with the YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade, the Back-Pack Program will be able to feed many hungry children throughout the year!
