Hunger Awareness Day is a Huge Success!Daily Bread Food Bank would like to express our sincerest thanks too all who attended and/or contributed to making Hunger Awareness Day a huge success! Special thanks to all of our speakers including, Roberto Salazar from the USDA, Susan Hantman, Robyn Melvin, State Representative Roberson, Florence Moss of Senator Bullard's office, Daniella Levine, Marla Tallant, Maria Nieves and Jennifer Behar. We would also like to thank NBC 6, Telemundo, Local 10 and the Miami Herald for coming to cover the press conference and CBS 4 for their story featuring Jennifer Behar. This year's event was an outstanding success and we feel very fortunate and honored to have had such an enthusiastic turn out and positive response from the community! Thank you so much South Florida!

In honor of Hunger Awareness Day, Daily Bread Food Bank has launched the Skip a Meal Program. This is a new, county specific way for someone to donate to Daily Bread. The premise is simple. Skip a meal and donate the monetary savings of that missed meal to Daily Bread Food Bank. By doing so, you will help someone in need and possibly feel some of the same hunger discomforts they feel daily. This program is a great way for someone who can only give a little to contribute. Remember, every little bit helps in the fight against hunger and by skipping just one meal, you can help someone needy in South Florida.
