PRESS CONFERENCE TO RAISE SOUTH FLORIDA HUNGER AWARENESS.
Daily Bread Food Bank reminds citizens that National Hunger Awareness Day is June 6th.
SOUTH FLORIDA, JUNE 2nd, 2006 - Tuesday, June 6th, 2006 is National Hunger Awareness Day. To commemorate the day, the Daily Bread Food Bank will be holding a press conference at its Broward County branch located at 2970 NW 27th Street in Fort Lauderdale. This press conference, which will convene at 10:00 am, will feature guest speakers including State Representative Eleanor Sobel of District 99. These supporters will address the local media on the importance of hunger awareness in South Florida.
As a contribution to National Hunger Awareness Day, a special group of volunteers from Southwest Airlines will be on hand to sort food that will be distributed to the needy people of South Florida. This charitable effort from Southwest is in concurrence with their national Spread the Luv program which collects jars of peanut butter for food banks coast to coast.
Increasing awareness that South Florida hunger is a real and growing problem will help ensure that there are enough resources to feed the needy in this community. The Daily Bread Food Bank encourages the South Florida media to join them for the National Hunger Awareness Day press conference. This event will bring hunger awareness to the community which in turn will help feed a lot of hungry residents.
